Hotel Mediterran

We loved our room, which looked out over the mountain and had a small balcony. This was our first visit, a break from living in the UK for 25 years, and it was a very good experience for us as a Filipino couple. The receptionist was concise and told us about bear shops and other amenities. Thank you.

We'd choose Pest next time, even though public transport was very close to this hotel. After seven nights, I'd give it three stars rather than four. The room was very clean, and with the windows shut we didn't hear the busy road outside. Staff were pleasant and mostly helpful, and breakfast was adequate and well stocked. The safe didn't work and was never fixed, despite my asking the receptionist three times. The towels were clean but gray instead of white. We could have used more electrical sockets, and some milk would have been nice with the tea and coffee facilities.

The bus stop is just around the corner, about 15 minutes from the center, and there's a garage across the road for drinks and snacks. We didn't eat at the hotel. In the room there was tea and coffee, with soap, shower gel, and shampoo in the bathroom. The shower over the bath had good pressure and plenty of hot water. The hotel has lovely decoration and furnishings, though it isn't quite boutique. Our room was warm and comfortable, especially the bed, and the staff were friendly and knew their stuff. No complaints, and I'd recommend it. The photo was the view from the window.

Getting into the city center was easy, with bus and tram stops only a two-minute walk away. The windows did a good job blocking noise and the heating worked well. The room was reasonably clean, and the shower had very high pressure. We booked a double but got a double plus a single, which worked out nicely for two friends traveling together. Unfortunately, there was only one working power socket in our room, which was a bit of a pain, though manageable. It's a nice little hotel on the outskirts of the Buda side of Budapest.
