My bad experience was at the "Cosy Tolnai Apartment," not directly at Mia Casa Rooms, though both are operated by "Historic Apartments Budapest." I found that the provider manages more than 30 other properties in Budapest, and many reviews describe unhygienic and unhealthy conditions at them. The apartment I stayed in was filthy when I arrived. There was extensive mold, bedbugs, fleas, and other insects. The mattress was worn and stained with blood, urine, and sweat, there were dead insects in the kitchen, the bathroom was unhygienic, and several things were broken. I complained right away, but the provider responded unprofessionally and refused a refund. After one sleepless night, I had to leave. What concerns me is that similar complaints seem common across properties from "Historic Apartments Budapest," and I also found reports of similar issues at Mia Casa Rooms. The ratings on booking platforms often look suspiciously good, while Google Maps and independent reviews show serious problems. To me, that suggests a pattern of misleading guests. I strongly advise people to avoid Mia Casa Rooms and the provider’s other properties. The names include Cosy Tolnai Apartment, Historic Apartments, Family Guesthouse, Historic Centre Rooms, Harmony Homes, Historic Rooms, Royal Rooms, Aradi Fashion Apartment, and Mia Casa Rooms. Anyone looking for somewhere clean, safe, and trustworthy should stay away from this provider.

We paid for three nights but only managed to "enjoy" one, and management had no intention of refunding us. The bathroom was shared, despite the website saying it was private. The room was dirty and cramped, with no real window, just a tiny 20x20 cm one looking onto what seemed like a very strange indoor fireplace. It was the most appalling place I’ve ever seen. If you feel adventurous, try the elevator too, that’s another part of the experience. I can’t imagine who wrote the earlier comments. It’s strange that each one is in a different language and from a different country around the world... 🤔

The apartments were not bad, but there were some hassles. The two rooms share a toilet, and the instructions for collecting the key elsewhere weren’t explained clearly or promptly. We barely managed to find it, and they didn’t reply right away.

We got there late in the evening and had to spend the night, but the place was impossible to stay in. Everything was dirty and broken. I wouldn’t recommend these apartments to anyone.
