We stayed three days and two nights, and the central location worked really well for us. The hotel's period exterior and lobby gave it a bit of a boutique feel. Our room and bathroom seemed clean and comfortable, and the room looked recently updated. There was a mini fridge without a minibar, an in-room safe, and somewhere to hang clothes. I’m used to finding a kettle and tea in Australian hotel rooms, but after staying at a few places in Europe I understand that's not standard there, so it wasn't a big issue. The staff were welcoming, helpful, and accommodating from the moment we arrived. Breakfast had a varied selection. As I understand it, on weekdays, and possibly Saturdays though I didn't eat there on a Saturday, there was hot food along with cold meats, cheese, cereal, yogurt, and fruit. On Sunday the kitchen wasn't working, or perhaps that was a one-off, so they gave guests sandwiches, juice, water, and fruit. The only downside was the lack of an elevator. That was mentioned openly in other reviews, and we knew before booking. I'd happily stay here again next time I'm in Budapest.
