White Almond Apartment

I absolutely can't recommend this Budapest accommodation. If I weren't required to give one star, I'd give it zero. The owner is a terrible fraud, and I'm holding back from saying more. In August 2023, I booked through www.hotely.cz for August 2024, during the Sziget festival. The confirmation email set out the terms and said the owner wanted a third of the accommodation cost paid. We sent the money right away. In January 2024, the owner emailed to cancel, claiming I hadn't paid. He remembered this five months later. After a week of arguing with www.hotely.cz, the money suddenly came back to my account from the owner. Yet he had canceled on the grounds that I hadn't paid. My view is that he found someone willing to pay more for those dates and rudely threw us out. Now our accommodation for the Sziget festival has fallen through, and what's left is very expensive or very far away. I have proof, including emails and bank statements. The handling by www.hotely.cz was disappointing too. They didn't tell me when the issue was resolved; I only noticed by checking the bill. They had said the owner was obliged to find us a suitable replacement after unjustifiably canceling, and that they would look for one as well. Then there was silence.
