Hotel Piroska

The wellness area is the hotel's strongest point. It's beautifully designed, included for free, and I can't think of anything that should work differently or better. I expect it will be a big reason more guests come in the future. Bük still feels more like a village than a town, so I appreciated the hotel's decent architecture. From the street it looks a bit like a village guesthouse, while inside it's large and modern without losing that sensible style. The restaurant for non-hotel guests didn't give me the same impression, though. They could think about how to attract more local diners. Breakfast and dinner worked well for us. You can easily look over the food and choose what you prefer, which suited me as a vegetarian. Checkout at 11 was also pleasantly late. We were very satisfied overall.

The pool was great, and the stay was alright, though it didn't really feel worth four stars. When we arrived, they hadn't given us a fridge, and there was no AC.

The food was the best part, genuinely delicious, and the Wi-Fi in the rooms had good strength and quality. I also liked the hotel's pool and spa. Still, I'd call this a good three-star place rather than four-star. There's no AC in the rooms, and the bathroom was only okay when I expected something more modern. Those are the reasons I'm landing on four stars.

We checked in through the app at 22:00, after dinner service had ended at 21:00, but they still gave us a super dinner. We were grateful. It's a nice place for a quiet night's sleep, and it's friendly for kids. There's free Wi-Fi, a box safe in the room, and a large parking area on the grounds, enough for about 50 cars. The rating says four stars, but I don't think it deserves that. It's not bad, just nowhere near four-star quality, maybe two at most. There were no slippers in the room and some small technical details could use refreshing. Most of the staff don't know English, so be ready to use Google Translate. Hungarian is really hard to pronounce :-)
