The receptionists were rude and gossiped about foreign guests, saying unkind things because they thought we couldn’t understand their language. When my Hungarian boyfriend tried to stand up for me, they said they would stop him from visiting me at the hotel and wouldn’t let him speak up about our rights. They showed no manners or respect for our personal lives. It’s sad, but this is true. I think they need to learn to respect people first.

I went there once, about 10 years ago, and as someone who loves to eat, I still remember the special breakfasts. They served cheese and cottage cheese on special occasions. The hostess, Mr. Eugeniusz’s wife, saw how excited we were and quickly clarified that we wouldn’t be getting cheese every day. She kept her word.
Pannonjob is taking over the place. Ukrainians, and more recently Kazakh people, who have unfortunately been coming into the country for years, are housed here and placed with various companies, to the disadvantage and detriment of Hungarians. The hostel used to be the Videoton resort, and came into the hands of the people mentioned above through a “dealer”.
I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. From the moment you walk in, it reeks of sweat. The family running it may seem nice at first, but they’re terribly aggressive. After they found food crumbs on the carpet, they called us hotel guests “pigs”!!! The food was very poor, and the portions were literally one roll per person and four slices of cold meat.
