Allure Healthy Hotel

The view from the pool is of an electric station and a housing block, and the location is poor. For a hotel that should be four stars, it felt much closer to three. The food was basic and not tasty. Breakfast was set for 7:30, but didn't arrive until 8:00, and they couldn't even provide coffee. The wellness area was supposed to open at 9:00, while the pools and sauna only started operating at 10:00. The young students working there seemed to lack the experience needed to provide service. It felt more like a gym with a few extra services.

The reception staff were very kind, and the apartment was spacious and nice, with utilities included. We slept well in a good bed, and there was no noise. The spa was great in the evening, with a Finnish spa, infrared sauna, steam sauna, salt room, and several pools with a jacuzzi. The next day was a different story: at 9, things hadn't been started up, the wet sauna had black stuff on the floor, the Finnish sauna was cold and hadn't been aired out, and there was water all over the floor. The hotel is outside central Eger, in an area with an electrical plant and communist apartment blocks, though there are also nice hill views. Dinner was included in our offer, which was convenient after the spa since the city is a long walk away. The buffet had a good range: a few soups and salads, cheese, sauces, meats, side dishes, and desserts. The big downside was that no drinks were included, not even plain tap water with lemon or anything like that. Drinks cost extra, and the bar prices were quite high, maybe 25-40% above average. The menu was only in Hungarian, and on top of the high prices they also add a 10% restaurant service charge. The accommodation is expensive anyway. I took off two more stars because the payment required for children wasn't made clear. The policy said children were up to 18 years old, with no extra charge mentioned in the dedicated policy. I also wrote in advance on booking to discuss the child, but got no reply. At checkout, they asked for 60 euros for the child, even though the whole package was 133 euros. In the end we agreed on less, which felt fair, but the way they handled the child policy and communication on booking was very poor.

No reception area to sit in if you've got a couple of hours to kill, and coffee isn't available after 10:30. For a spa hotel, there are no slippers, and the kitchen has no utensils like plates or pans. The staff were rude. A kitchen worker told my friend, "isn't buffer food good enough for you" when he asked for the burger. At checkout, the receptionist wanted to charge everyone for late checkout, even though we returned our keys on time, apart from one couple who kept their room. Horrible experience. Don't stay here.
