Bazilika Vendégház

We didn't have a garden to sit in during the evenings, which was the one thing we missed. Still, we were very pleased and would definitely return. The place is close to the thermal pools, park, Basilica, I. Dobo Square, castle, and all of Eger's old town. We prefer driving to the Valley of the Beautiful Lady so we don't have to carry bottles of our favorite wines 😉. Parking is free, and we sent the owner our car registration number beforehand. The owner speaks English, so communicating was no problem. All three rooms were clean, air-conditioned, and ready for guests, with two towels per person. Each has a small bathroom, a fridge, and facilities for making tea and coffee. One room has two large, very comfortable double beds. Another has a double bed and can fit a delivery person on a camp bed. If a child needs to fit in as well, three can sleep comfortably in the bed. The third room is also a double. The shared mini-kitchen is basic but does the job. You can always find something to complain about if you want, but there were very few shortcomings.

For one night, this place is perfectly fine. It's a typical Hungarian rental apartment, acceptable in standard and with working air conditioning, though not luxurious. The location is excellent: peaceful and quiet, but close to the city center. I couldn't tell whether parking in front of the property was free, since I wasn't able to communicate with the owner in English.

The hosts were really nice and flexible, and you can walk to everything important, including downtown, the castle, and the beach. The place is small and simple, but has what you need: Wi-Fi, air conditioning, free parking, a kitchen, and a welcome gift of kv chocolate. Recommended.
