The best thing was how close it was to the city centre, about a 10-minute walk, and to the castle. The room, though, looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in ages, and the TV didn’t work at all. The bathroom ventilation was broken, which was a real problem since there were no windows. Privacy was nearly nonexistent. There was only one curtain for the floor-to-ceiling windows, so it couldn’t cover both windows and the glass entrance door. In the evening, people could see right in, including when you came out of the bathroom after showering. At this price, I’d also expect basic toiletries. We hadn’t booked breakfast, but asked for it the next day. I checked what it included and was told cold cuts, coffee or tea, juice, and so on. When I paid, each item had been charged separately. There are two buildings, an old one and a new one. The older building really needs investment to bring it up to the newer one’s standard. More staff would help too. Every morning, one older woman seemed to be doing everything: preparing and serving breakfast, taking payments, and cleaning a lot of rooms. The courtyard was dark, with various objects lying around that were easy to trip over on the way to the room. There was also no visual divider between our balcony and the next room’s. I could see straight into their room from about a metre away, and someone could just as easily see into ours.

Ask for a balcony room if you can. It’s very spacious and modern, and even has an outdoor bed. We loved spending time out there. There’s a small pool, plus a back door that opens straight onto a running track. The café beside the lobby, Egria Café, is fantastic too, and has its own Google listing. The owners are extremely friendly and look after the place like it’s their own home. You can see it in the little touches, like the pictures, ornaments, and plants. It’s newly refurbished and rated four stars, and worth every penny. We had a lovely stay and are sure to come back. Thanks for everything! 😃

The city centre is right around the corner, and the owner is so nice and patient. Breakfast was amazing, and all the staff were great. It’s a cosy, lovely place for a short visit or a longer stay. I highly recommend it!
