The thermal pools and restaurants are nearby, and it's a handy base for visiting the area's many interesting places. We stayed for a week and found the new guest house very clean and comfortable, with great conditions all around. The kitchenette was well equipped and the beds were comfortable. We'd happily come back. Sylvia and Joseph from Poland

At the Szalók Holiday House in Egerszalók, we found a comfortable place to stay, with a generous, tasty breakfast. The staff were especially kind and helpful, and we had a very pleasant visit.

We stayed here for six nights, and had discussed bringing guests on a reservation, including three particular rooms. When we arrived, those rooms weren't available. We raised the issue, then discovered that evening there was no hot water for showers. It was uncomfortable having to face our guests under those circumstances. The Holiday House is very run down, with dust all over the underside of the beds and rooms that weren't clean enough. We had planned to bring guests back here, but now we'll have to think about that.
