The pool and whirlpools were really nice, and the staff friendly. The pitches were spacious enough. The Balaton beach is about a 15-minute walk from the campsite; it’s a paid beach, but worth visiting. Toilets and showers were clean enough, though the dishwashing water wasn’t hot and the showers didn’t get very warm either.

We paid 200€/71,000HUF for four nights with five people. The pitches were pleasant and spacious, and the campsite was generally very clean, though the men’s showers and toilets were much less clean than the women’s. It was hard to find the entrance, and the grounds aren’t monitored. The pool was already very dirty in the morning. I’m not sure the filter was working properly. There’s also a jacuzzi, but don’t expect too much from it. The bar is open from 12:00am to 10:00pm. The cocktails had too little alcohol, while the beer was cold and normal.

We preferred the pool to Lake Balaton, which was a 15-minute walk away along a route with little shade, and required an entry fee. The campsite was quiet when we arrived at the end of July, and although we hadn’t booked, it wasn’t full. We stayed two nights in a tent, choosing our own spot from plenty of shady pitches. The pool and two whirlpools were especially welcome in the hot weather. Staff were kind and helpful, the toilets and showers were clean, and the WiFi worked okay most of the time across the whole site. Since we were leaving Hungary, it was convenient to pay the HUF cash we had and cover the rest by card. Hot water was unreliable: twice we had to wash dishes in cold water, and once we showered cold during our three days there. It would also help to have more water taps near the pitches. The only one we found was by the toilets.

I’d give this place a miss. The ageing site was only about 20% full, but a German couple pitched right next to us and then acted as if they could use our pitch. The management did nothing. Later, we wondered if it was deliberate because our spot was blocking the charging points they needed for their cars. We told management, but don’t expect them to bother. A group of Germans seems to dominate the site. Do they get free electricity, or are they stealing it?
