Hotel Amarillis

Handy place for a night's rest while travelling, not far from the Austrian border and right off the motorway. It has AC, secure parking, hot water, Wi-Fi and clean, comfortable beds. Easy to book online at short notice.

We didn't get to stay because traffic stopped us from arriving, so I can't really rate the accommodation. I gave five stars for the customer service. Check-in was open until 23:00, and at first the GPS said we'd arrive at 19:00. As traffic kept getting worse, the estimated arrival moved later, and I stayed in touch with reception. Imre was willing to wait two hours past his usual hours for our family with two kids. When it reached 23:00 and the delays kept growing, I thanked him and said we'd give up and find somewhere closer to where we were stuck. That's when he told me he needed to be back at work at 6:00. He'd been prepared to wait until 1 in the morning, then go home and return with less than four hours of sleep, just to check us in. I hope his boss sees this and recognizes his dedication. Thank you, Imre. Next time we're nearby, we'll stop in and thank you in person.

The owner was so kind and understanding. We'd accidentally booked for the following day, but he still let us stay when we needed a room. The room and bathroom were very clean, and the location is great. We wholeheartedly recommend the place and will definitely come back.

A quiet, pleasant hotel for a break after a long trip. The rooms were clean, and parking was secure. There was no room service.
