Central Apartman

I wouldn’t recommend it for a longer stay, though it’s okay for one night.

The neighborhood is quiet, and the pedestrian street is just a few minutes away. We stayed four nights as two adults with two children, and the whole apartment was clean and tidy. We arrived an hour before check-in, but that was no problem.

We booked the guesthouse for New Year’s Eve with families and small children, on the understanding that we’d have the whole place to ourselves. We were told that was the case, but there was a party spread over two floors with a band and at least 150 people. The owner didn’t seem to care, since the booking had already been made and we paid the full accommodation fee when we arrived. Our room door opened straight onto the parking lot, and the New Year’s Eve bonfire was about five meters away between our cars, where a one-year-old and a five-year-old were sleeping, or meant to be sleeping. On New Year’s Eve morning we were ten minutes late for breakfast. They sent us out into the pouring rain with two children, suggesting the bakery might be open. Nothing was open, and we struggled to find a kebab shop. Our so-called four-person “apartment” had a tiny minibar-style table with two chairs and a similarly equipped “kitchen.” The ground-floor rooms were much less comfortable than the upstairs ones. We travel often, and we’ve never had such a bad experience with accommodation.

They crammed three children and two adults into a small space, which was also the room they called the kitchen. For five people there was one spoon, two knives, one deep plate, and so on, so we had to keep running out to get things one at a time. We were shocked to learn only after paying that the bathroom was shared with other guests. The place is described as baby-friendly, but there was no baby equipment or baby bath. When we complained, we were told, “everything is there, just ask,” even though when booking you have to state the children’s ages. The bathroom was so cramped you could barely get to the toilet, and the door was transparent, so people could see in. Dishes had to be washed in the shared bathroom or sink, without a dish sponge. The bed linen was torn. We’ve stayed in places all over the country and never had such bad accommodation, especially for this much money. We could have stayed at Corvin Hotel instead. I wanted to attach real photos so others wouldn’t be disappointed, but for some reason the system wouldn’t let me 😣
