The hosts were kind and gave us space, so we hardly saw them. Cleanliness was fine, and the apartment looked good at first, though a closer look showed a few flaws. That didn’t bother me much. What matters most to me is a clean place and a comfortable bed, and the beds were the problem. The bedroom beds seemed like children’s beds tucked underneath something. The sofa bed for two in the living room was fairly comfortable, but don’t choose the folding camp bed. I couldn’t sleep on it without something hurting, and it got worse as the night went on. The hosts should try lying on it for an afternoon nap. I’m sure they wouldn’t offer it to another guest after that.

I noticed the apartment allowed pets, but thought it was only fair to call and say I’d be arriving with three cats. The response was, “Oh my god.” That reaction itself wouldn’t be an issue, since everyone can decide what they allow in their own property. He said he’d call back to let me know whether we could come, as we urgently needed somewhere to stay. I’m still waiting for that call. His way of handling it wasn’t fair.

The owner is lovely and flexible, and the price is good for what you get. In summer, the terrace must be great. Just be aware that in winter or bad weather, the kitchen is in a separate building across the terrace and isn’t well heated. That could be inconvenient if you haven’t been told beforehand.

The apartments have two nice bedrooms and a beautifully kept garden, and they’re great for children. There’s a lovely park right nearby, between the church and the museum, with a playground, barefoot park, and Roman ruins just 20 meters away. The hosts were kind, fair, and helpful with everything.
