That restaurant used to be well worth a visit, but now it’s closed, and it adds to the sense that the hotel is getting worn down. I’ve always liked the place, one of the few genuine hotels in the area. It seems to reflect Kaposvar too, which doesn’t exactly feel like a town on the rise.

The breakfast was fantastic, and we also enjoyed the tasty bistro. We spent 5 of our 12 nights in Hungary at Hotel Dorottya in Kaposvar, where the rooms and service were outstanding. We felt safe and comfortable throughout, and we’ll stay there again on our next trip.

The building has an elegant look and some interesting architecture, and the check-in was pleasant. The staff were friendly and spoke good English. My room was fairly large, with decent equipment, adequate WiFi, a comfortable enough bed, and a shower with good hot water and pressure. For the price, it was a good deal. The downsides were that the air conditioning wouldn’t start, and opening the windows brought in a lot of noise at night. There was also a faint smoke smell in the bathroom, and parts of the room could use some care. I stayed one night while visiting a nearby company.

The breakfast had a good range, though a lot of it was cold. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, but the bathrooms feel quite dated and really need renovation. I stayed at dorottya hotel for one day on a business trip. With limited options in kaposvar, it’s still a reasonable choice.

Parking is available in front of the building, and the charming bar is a great place to spend the evening. The rooms are neat and pleasant, as are the bathrooms, and breakfast is perfectly fine. I travel a lot, and found this to be a super friendly Hotel. Best regards Michel Ong
