Hotel Arboretum Sarvar

We left with mixed feelings. Our room felt worn from age and perhaps a little dirty in places. The staff, though, were very nice and helpful. There were mosquitoes, but none of the windows or the terrace door had a mosquito net. We had to keep everything shut, and with no air conditioning it got very hot. My partner and I also found the double bed uncomfortable: it was two beds pushed together with a 5-7cm gap, so cuddling wasn't really an option. Breakfast was okay. You have to ask separately for scrambled eggs and sausages, which does mean they're guaranteed fresh. The place is near the arboretum, but on the far side, so walking around it takes about 10-15 minutes. We stayed through a coupon sale. At that price-value ratio, we'd pick somewhere else in a similar category next time.

The building looks fine from the outside, but the rooms are worn and weren’t cleaned properly. There were dusty cobwebs, very old furniture, and mold in the shower. The mattress was hard, and soundproofing seemed nonexistent. Breakfast felt cramped, with hardly anyone there. I think it might suit guests over 60, but it’s a shame this apartment is rated three stars. The owner seems to take money out without maintaining the place. I could say more.

I’ve stayed at Hotel Arboretum several times and am glad it’s reopening. The staff were kind and helpful, and the two receptionists sorted out everything I asked about. I arrived before check-in and they let me leave my luggage. The hotel is clean and tidy, in a quiet spot, and an easy walk from the center, spa, and train station. Breakfast was good too, with scrambled eggs and sausages made fresh on request. The price suited me well, and they accept the SZÉP card. I won’t stay anywhere else!
