Abbázia Club Hotel Kék

The pool was a lovely temperature for cooling off, and the staff were friendly and gave the service I expected. My room was cozy, and being in the main part of Club Hotel made it easy to find both the pool and breakfast. I didn’t need to check anything else since the room had what I needed. It’s beside a beautiful park and close to Balaton, and I felt the price covered everything well. I’d gladly recommend staying here.

We found the location really convenient, with the lake, palace, and markets all within a 10-15 minute walk. There’s a park nearby, several restaurants around, and two right outside. The hotel looks a little dated, but that didn’t bother me. Our room was very clean and had a small kitchen suitable for preparing meals, plus a microwave and mini fridge. The bed was comfortable, and extra blankets were available. The windows squeaked a bit, but we needed to open them because there’s no fan or air conditioning. May was still cool, though I can imagine summer getting too hot without ventilation. Maybe they could provide fans during the hot months. Everything was spotless, the Wi-Fi worked fine, and the staff were very friendly. Milan, the young man who checked us in, was especially kind and welcoming. Breakfast is available if you reserve it the night before. There’s also an espresso machine at the front desk, and they sell some drinks. A great stay overall.

The location worked well for getting to both the lake and the palace, and there’s an outdoor pool across the street that hotel guests can use. My apartment had a balcony and was simply furnished but clean, with nice decor everywhere except the somewhat tired bathroom. There’s no food at the hotel apart from breakfast, though a restaurant is next door. Evenings were a bit noisy around there, possibly because my apartment faced the main street.

Keszthely was quiet and sleepy at the end of March, and we could reach several restaurants and coffee places within a 10-minute walk. We spent a week in a one-bedroom apartment. The staff were helpful and efficient, but the furniture was worn and the bed firm. The kitchenette had very little in it and no vent above the cooktop. The apartments are spread across several buildings with stairs, and there’s no laundry service onsite or within walking distance.
