A great choice. The room was fine, breakfast was great, and the staff were extremely nice, kind, and helpful.

I went home feeling refreshed and relaxed after four restful days here with a small group. From the lovely landscape and fresh, clean air to the almost audible silence, the setting was wonderful. When the weather is clear, you can even see the snowy peaks of the Tatra Mountains. The guesthouse felt cozy, family-like, and homely. I loved the interior, especially the harmony of the colors and details. My favorite spaces were the upstairs room with its wonderful view and the spacious, bright dining room, lit by natural light from outside. Our hosts were kind and helpful. I especially want to mention Ildikó for her warmth, attentiveness, and skill as a hostess. She cooks very well, and we enjoyed delicious homemade food. For breakfast, they could also provide lactose-free milk and yogurt, plus gluten-free rolls or bread when requested.

The staff treated us kindly throughout, and the guesthouse sits right by the blue trail at the edge of the village, which makes it a great base for hiking. Still, a few small fixes would make the value much better. The taps and water pressure were disappointing, the rooms aren't properly soundproofed, and the mattresses are on the floor. We could have used hand towels by the sink, and perhaps towels for the sauna too, instead of having to use one towel for everything. The sauna door was hard to open, and the jacuzzi smelled strongly of algae. I wasn't keen on paying an extra 2,500 HUF to use the sauna and jacuzzi, though I understand that guests who don't want those facilities may prefer the lower room price. Breakfast was okay, but could have been more generous and more mindful of vegetarian and vegan guests. The place is fine as it is, but these little improvements would go a long way.

We had the most uncomfortable sleep we've had in a long time, and we wouldn't choose to stay here again. Room 8 is right by reception and the entrance, so there was noise at night and early in the morning. The mattress was so badly sunken on both sides that we could hardly sleep, and the pillow's little sponge filling wasn't comfortable either. The shower was barely large enough, even though neither of us is especially big. There was no extractor fan or window. The TV had no commercial channels, and wellness access costs extra. At breakfast, the bread rolls were the only thing we liked. I'm not saying nobody should stay here, but we wouldn't return.
