The food is what I think of as Hungarian cuisine: delicious, creative, and served in portions that are generous without being ridiculously huge. Prices are fair, and I felt we got more than we paid for. The service was great, with friendly waiters, and the atmosphere brings the area's historical heritage to mind. It's an authentic spot, though especially in winter it feels like it's in the middle of nowhere. A lovely place to visit after a thermal bath.

Inside, the restaurant is beautifully decorated with a Hungarian theme. A couple of menu descriptions were confusing: the pork schnitzel with skin, for example, turned out to be two square pieces of pork with the skin on, not the schnitzel I’d pictured. We had goulash, bone marrow with vegetables, that pork dish, and chicken schnitzel from the kids' menu, plus beer, coffee, and lemonade. It came to 19,000 forints, about 50 euros.

I stumbled across this place by chance during a work trip nearby. They were setting up for a wedding, but still let us have lunch on the balcony. The pasta was the best I’d had in months.

The service is really friendly, and the food is amazing. The vegetarian dishes are good, but the meat is especially great. I’d strongly recommend the goose liver, pulled pork, and boar ribs. If you're in town, give it a visit.
