A cozy place at a fair price, and close to the area's main attractions. Acceptable accommodation.

Quiet, clean, and nice. I really recommend it.

The accommodation was clean, in a quiet, pleasant spot near Elipsum swimming pool and the Cave Baths, with restaurants and ice cream nearby. But the garden was disappointing: the old table and benches on the slope were unstable and could tip over, and the paving around the fireplace needed work. The kitchen also needs better equipment. There were only two small coffee cups, eight regular glasses, and about six mugs, with no beer, wine, or other glass sizes. The rooms are on the third floor, up quite a few stairs. With small children, we had to be careful constantly. The balcony and stair railings are just four horizontal bars with gaps a child could climb through, so we couldn't let the little ones onto the balcony because of the risk of falling or climbing. The owner only spoke Hungarian, but was willing to communicate, and we managed with a translator. It was surprising that nobody checked on us during our five days to see if everything was okay or if we needed anything, including at checkout. These safety concerns are visible in the photos, but you often only notice them once you're there.

The price is reasonable, so it can be worth staying, but expect some inconveniences. The area is deserted in the off-season, with one small grocery store and most restaurants closed. It's a pleasant guesthouse with friendly staff, clean rooms, and basic appliances. Parking is available at the house, though the entrance is steep and difficult. The swimming pool is about a half-hour walk away. The five rooms share a small kitchen, and even with full occupancy there weren't enough cups, plates, or cutlery. The children's sofa bed was so hard and uncomfortable that the three of us ended up in one double bed. The room had just one small towel, so bring extra towels, dishes, and an air mattress or baby sponge.
