Nyerges Hotel Thermal

The thermal bath is a lovely place to spend a few hours, and the sauna is heated on request to save energy, which seems perfectly reasonable. We also ate at the restaurant: good local food, and the fresh beer is worth trying. We stayed two nights in this cosy hotel, which is set away from the street in a typical country house. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice, though we were unlucky with the water: one night there was no shower water, and the next there was no hot water. The staff worked quickly to sort it out.

Breakfast was a nice experience in the winter garden, and they made a fresh omelette on request at no extra cost. There’s a good restaurant menu and the food was excellent. The staff were friendly, courteous and spoke several languages. Small dogs can stay in the room free, late checkout was granted without a charge, and parking is spacious and free. The little lake, bridge and lots of flowers give the place a romantic feel. The thermal pool, spa and Jacuzzi were very nice, and there are Finnish and infrared saunas. The hotel was very clean. On the downside, our room was very small, and nobody offered an upgrade. Noise from the staircase and guests coming back could be heard because the room wasn’t well insulated. It isn’t accessible for wheelchair users or guests with disabilities, and there were no gluten-free breakfast items. Heating was only possible with the air conditioner, which was quite noisy because of the fan and ventilation.

Dinner stood out: the portions were large and the kitchen prepared the food with care. The waitress knew each dish and how it was made, and her experience showed in the service. The room was clean and smelled fresh, with nothing to complain about there. I arrived by car using navigation and had checked the hotel beforehand, but I still hadn’t expected service and professionalism this good. The receptionist was kind and explained the hotel in detail. I recommend Golazh, and I’ve already suggested it to business partners and friends. I’ll visit again soon. 🙂

The breakfast bread dipped in egg was a highlight for me every day. It felt like it had been made with care and love. This is a lovely family-run hotel, and the people were the kindest I’ve met, especially the young daughters and their mother. They look so alike and work really well as a team. Had a super awesome stay. If you get the chance to visit, go for it!
