Balaton Grill Szállás Siófok

We ordered two takeaway portions of pljeskavica, and ended up paying 19,000 HUF. The prices were tucked away in a hidden spot and listed by ingredient. When we asked what it would cost, the answer was delivered as if we were supposed to get the joke. We were left standing there awkwardly with the food. The food itself was delicious. Still, the feeling of being taken advantage of was awful, and the service didn’t meet even basic hospitality standards. It was unpleasant, and I don’t want to go through that again.

On August 20 in Budapest, at Várkert bazaar, we paid 24,000 ft for three pleszka-style hamburgers with less meat. They were tasteless, and the server was quite phlegmatic. We’d hoped for a good meal, but I wouldn’t return or recommend this place. We only found out later from friends that they’d had the same opinion.

On August 20th in Budapest, we paid 21,000 forints for two cheese pljeskas and one without cheese. I was surprised by the price, since I’d never paid that much for a meal in Italy, so I asked what it was. The seller didn’t like being asked and acted like a jerk. The price list was pretty well hidden, and even there the highest price was 7,000. Interesting. At least the food didn’t taste bad, but this experience deserves a bad review, even though I don’t usually write them. I do not recommend it.

Balaton-Grill is easy to recommend. We’ve tried several dishes at different events over the years and have never been let down. The food is fresh, high quality, really tasty, and served in generous portions. The staff are friendly, and I don’t see a problem with the price compared with the quality and quantity. People who complain that it costs too much may not appreciate good food, especially when customers don’t see the vendors’ costs for space, energy, and the rest. 😋👍✌️
