Joy guesthouse

We were so happy with our stay that we're able to remain for 2 more days, and we're already thinking about coming back next month, in August if we can. The beach is only 3 minutes away, and my husband liked having a covered parking spot for his car. The beds were first-class, and our chosen room was spacious, with a large bathroom and good air conditioning. Mr. Tobi was kind and knowledgeable, with great suggestions for restaurants and breakfast places. The staff were helpful, kind, and quick to respond. I needed a hairdresser, and they gave me Timea's phone number within 3 minutes. The rooms and kitchen were perfectly clean.

On my October 2021 trip around Lake Balaton, I stayed in four different accommodations and could have picked a better one here. There was no sense of hospitality. The owners seemed to economize on everything: the cheapest materials, one towel per person, no shampoo, no complimentary coffee or tea, no kitchen tissues, and no extra blanket in autumn unless you asked. The air conditioning remote had been put away so I couldn't use it. They charged us more than the amount agreed through Booking.com, without applying the genius discount. I wasn't given a POS transaction slip and had to photograph the copy the receptionist kept, as she said slips aren't printed for foreign cardholders. I've used my VISA card many times, including on that trip, and had never encountered that before. I posted a similar comment on Booking.com, where I made the reservation. In response, the facility denied charging more than agreed, even though it absolutely had. Avoid this place.

The location was very good, quiet and near the lake. Our room had a large bathroom and mosquito nets, though there were cobwebs and cleanliness could have been better. Staff communicated well before we arrived, but rushed through things in person.

The facilities were clean, and sir tobi and her friend were especially accommodating. We'll come back again.
