Smeraldo Luxus Apartman

A great apartment, with service that was the best.

This place suits people who want to party all night. There's a pool, jacuzzi, and barbecue area, and it's near the promenade and Frei café. The accommodation itself was acceptable, but the TV was tiny and there was barely room to get out of bed on the wall side. We couldn't relax: the young people above us screamed and played music terribly loud at night, teased us, and banged on our door. The insulation is awful, so we got to "enjoy" their evening too. We decided after the first night to find somewhere else. The owner offered another room and said a security service would keep order from that evening, but we didn't want to live on a shoestring budget. He returned part of what we'd paid but charged us for two days. I felt that was unfair, since we were forced to leave through no fault of our own. A young couple

The landlord's response to our complaint about the size was that we could leave if we didn't like it, since this is Siófok and he could rent it to someone else within two minutes. We'd been told to expect 65m2, but the apartment was only 40m2, very cramped for six adults. The price and quality don't match. There were sheets and towels for only four people, and they smelled so bad that no one wanted to use them. We found a mouse carcass under one bed that looked like it had been there for weeks. The shower drain was completely blocked, so water wouldn't go down. Instead of a living room with an American kitchen, there was a mini sofa that was supposed to sleep two, and the kitchen had very little equipment.

Parking was chaotic, with two cars on the terrace, making it impossible to go outside. Our apartment's name and number were marked on the parking spot, which felt odd. We didn't have a car, so it wasn't a major issue, but strangers kept walking across our terrace, which was weird. We also had trouble with the grill. No one told us how to use it, and although we were told it was available anytime, another owner put up a sign with a toothpick and explained that it had to be booked. The wellness area shut at 9 pm, which felt early in the summer, especially when many young people stay there and we like to swim at night. It would have been nice to have access at least until midnight. The apartment was in a condominium with several owners, and that led to conflicts. Getting checked in was awkward too: reception was across the street, not in the building, and in 40-degree heat my mother and partner had to wait at the gate with their suitcases while I walked over to pay. In my previous stays elsewhere, someone had always met us, shown us the apartment, and explained everything. We waited in the hot sun for about 15 minutes before I got a gate code. When the tap was blocked, I called reception or the owner, I'm not sure which, and was told someone would come in five minutes, but nobody showed up. The air conditioning was in the first room instead of the kitchen, and once my mother went to sleep we couldn't use it because the cold air blew directly at her bed. The apartment was okay, but we weren't happy with everything, and the luxury side fell a little short. With a different approach to guests, there wouldn't have been these problems.
