Csutora Vendeghaz

It’s tucked away in a very quiet village street, far from the noise and bustle of the city. The rooms are clean and tidy, and there’s a huge yard with fruit trees. The accommodation keeps its old traditions.

There were four of us, and we all slept very comfortably. The host, Lajos Kiss, is a friendly, lovely guy, and we had a great chat. He loves animals, and you can see his handiwork in the one-of-a-kind tools and decorations. South American keepsakes are all around the house, so ask him how they got there. ;) This is a really cosy spot if rural charm is your thing. In cold weather, there’s a tiled stove for heat and a portable gas bottle for cooking. If you’re not much of a cook, that setup can be a bit of a drawback. The peace and quiet make up for it, though, and the surroundings are genuinely relaxing. We usually don’t stay in the same place twice, but we’re sure we’ll return here. One note for finding it: Google Maps shows the cottage in the wrong spot. Coming from Vasvár, turn right at the fork!

We had everything our family needed for a proper rest, and then some. Lajos, thank you for all of it. Your kindness and helpfulness deserve their own place in the dictionary!

There are plenty of things to see nearby, and this is a lovely spot to unwind and relax.
