We were there for two nights in January. It was a nice, cozy little room, everything worked fine, and the price was very reasonable. Everything was about 20 minutes away, and I’d stay again. We got a reply on WhatsApp within minutes. For self check-in, you need to contact the WhatsApp number posted on the door leading into the apartments. Regards.

For a fairly low-cost stay, this place was perfectly adequate and good value. The bed was large and comfortable, and the room was clean, in good condition, and had a hair dryer, kettle, coffee, tea, a safe, and a small fridge. The cleaning staff were friendly and attentive. One thing to know is that the rooms are in the top-floor loft, with full-height ceilings only in the middle third. The ceiling slopes over the bed, desk, and bathroom. I'm 5' 10" / 60 in / 152cm and hit my head on the ceiling over the bed several times. Breakfast comes on a card you redeem at ODA Restaurant next door. You can choose one breakfast plate, one cold drink, and one hot drink. The food was good, the coffee excellent, the freshly squeezed orange juice tasty, and the restaurant service was good too. Apart from ODA, there aren't many restaurants nearby, but we found two within a five-minute walk that stood out. MTI Étkezde has a small cafe open around 7am for coffee and sandwiches, plus a cafeteria in the same building from 1130 - 1500 serving hot food in generous portions at very reasonable prices. The soups were excellent. János Étterem in the Charles Hotel is more upscale but still casual, with excellent food and service at a reasonable price. I highly recommend both.

The room itself was nice, but the staff's communication and attitude were horrible. I'm in Budapest for work twice a month and have never had such an inconvenient hotel experience. If time matters to you and you don't want your trip filled with complications, don't choose this hotel. The self check-in failed. I was told my key card would be in a box, but it wasn't, and two other people were already waiting because their cards didn't work. They had called the host, though I don't know how long it took for anyone to come. Someone eventually let me into my room and said there was a technical issue with the key card program, which would be fixed in 10 minutes. I said it was fine as long as it was sorted by the next day, but they assured me it would be handled that afternoon. I sent two messages later that day through Booking and WhatsApp, with no reply. The next day I messaged several more times and called more than five times. Nobody answered or called back. At 14.00, someone finally picked up and said my card had actually been in the box already, but he “didn't know why no one informed me.” Breakfast starts at 8.00, which isn't convenient for a business trip. I arrived a few minutes early because I was in a hurry and waited outside the restaurant. The bartender opened the door a few minutes before 8 and said they weren't ready. I said I understood and could wait until 8.00, but she frustratingly told me they still wouldn't be ready then. I offered to take the takeaway option, but she rolled her eyes and told me to sit at the table by the door. I had a sandwich one day and a pistachio croissant the next. The croissant was like one from Lidl, just a little bigger. Breakfast wasn't bad, but it wasn't worth the price. You can find many cafes in Budapest with better coffee and more generous plates.

The place was dirty, with grime under the bed, stains on the wall, and a clogged drain that smelled awful. Even on a short stay, there were already plenty of problems. There was never a responsible person available in person, and everything had to go through WhatsApp or third parties. The cleaning staff barely spoke English, so communication was almost impossible. When I complained, they brushed it off with “policies” and excuses. They wrongly claimed I raised my concerns too late and even got my checkout date wrong. Very unprofessional and disappointing. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
