Halasi Pince Panzió

Villány is quiet and pleasant, and the wine is great. We’d love to return and stay here again. The hotel has an elegant, solid countryside feel, classical but simple, and very comfortable, with excellent value for money. Even though only our two rooms were occupied when we checked in, breakfast the next morning still had plenty to choose from, and everything was delicious. The English-speaking front desk staff were very polite and even walked us to the restaurant we’d booked next door. After we’d been gone for two days, I realized I’d left a piece of clothing behind, and they offered to mail it to me without being asked. Excellent service!

A small thing to plan around: in the off-season, most nearby shops and restaurants close early, often by 6 PM, so dinner can be hard to find unless you plan ahead. That aside, Halasi Pince Panzió made a wonderful impression. The staff were welcoming and friendly, the rooms were spacious with cozy beds and outstanding bathrooms, and breakfast was delicious and hearty. It’s a great option for a peaceful, comfortable stay.

A great base for visiting local wineries, right in the heart of Villány wine country. The hotel was charming and spotless, with a calm atmosphere and nice amenities. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. We’ll definitely return.

The summer terrace is gorgeous and quiet, and the place itself is comfortable, though the huge tables make it hard to see the person sitting opposite you. The dishes were all delicious, beautifully presented, and made with local, seasonal ingredients. Winter is a challenging time for cooking, but the mushroom and goose liver soup, foie gras with brioche, duck breast, and chicken breast were all excellent. The service, though, was rude and unhelpful, the wine list was poor, and one fork was dirty. That’s unacceptable for a restaurant like this.
