Puri Abian Ari

It’s a shame, because the property itself is clean and comfortable. But my booking through Traveloka under the name Puri Abian Ari by The Lavana wasn’t honored. The hotel said it couldn’t accept it because it had ended its agreement with Lavana management two or three years ago. Oddly, I’d booked the same hotel under the same name through Agoda two months earlier and had no problem. I booked legitimately through Traveloka, so I don’t think it should be up to guests to sort out the hotel’s business with Lavana or Traveloka. If the agreement ended years ago but the listing is still on Traveloka and Agoda, who is scamming whom? This was the worst hotel booking experience I’ve had.

The internet was the one weak point, it wasn’t good. The reception was nice, the rooms were nice, and Ilo was really kind and helpful.

I’m so grateful for my stay here. The people were what I loved most, and they helped with everything, from transport and in-person guidance for trips to bringing food home for me. They even gave me birthday cake and coconuts from the garden. This modern hideaway in the village is close to Tirta Gunga, and I especially liked the furniture, made for the property by a local artisan.

The rooms and swimming pool were both perfect, and the rooms looked better and felt more comfortable than some European four- or five-star hotels charging over €150 a night. The owner was very kind and even helped me order takeaway. If you want somewhere peaceful and nice near Tirtagangga, this is the place. It was really perfect!
