Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud

The team made a huge fuss of our 9-month-old baby in the best way, and looked after all of our needs, from meals to housekeeping. Indri, Vini, Agus and the rest of the staff were always smiling, hardworking, and ready to help. They made the stay feel special and memorable, and we’re so grateful. We hope to come back someday. The resort is thoughtfully designed, too. It has modern comforts while still feeling peaceful and rural, without anything being over the top or tacky. The jungle-surrounded pool, rustic restaurant, panoramic sky bar, and spa with its own carp-filled moat were all fantastic. Put simply, it’s one of the most wonderful resorts we’ve stayed at.

The staff, especially the breakfast restaurant team, were excellent, friendly, and professional. The hotel is comfortable, well maintained, and a peaceful place to relax. Breakfast had plenty of choice, though a few more sweet options, like crêpes with chocolate sauce, would be welcome. The rooftop bar is a pleasant spot, but it was mostly empty during our visit, perhaps because it was low season. The hotel is some distance from Ubud center, with nothing within walking distance, so you’ll need a taxi or the hotel shuttle. That distance also helps keep the atmosphere quiet. There were many children.

The massage was exceptional, and the rooms were well kept, good value, and met our expectations. The hotel was a lovely quiet break from a really busy area, especially at night. Food on our first night was just okay, but the second night was much better. Service had a couple of clear issues: staff were late, and the times they gave us weren’t kept. At breakfast, our hot drinks came after the hot food. We were also offered afternoon tea when we arrived, but what we got was just coffee, one chicken nugget, and a small banana cake on the same plate as the nugget. Still, it was a very pleasant stay, even with those service flaws.

Leaving was hard because the place felt like paradise, and I’ll remember the stay for a long time. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and comfortable, and everything felt perfect from the moment we arrived. The staff were warm, professional, and always happy to help. They made us feel special every day. I’d recommend it with all my heart, and I envy the people just arriving who still have the whole experience ahead of them.
