We spent two nights at Sayan Terrace. The idea is great, letting guests enjoy a private pool with a lovely mountain view, but keeping the place clean doesn't seem to be a priority. There was mold on the walls under the paint and on the drying rack. The towels smelled damp and sour. We asked for replacements, but the next set smelled the same. When we mentioned it again, they brought more towels sprayed with perfume, which only unsuccessfully covered the dirty, sour smell. Really? I wanted to ask how they wash them. Surely it can't be difficult to wash and dry towels properly, especially at a hotel charging over $100 a night. The menu said breakfast came with fresh fruit, but on both mornings the fruit was old or unripe. I wouldn't recommend this place. It isn't worth the money.

For nature lovers, this place feels like paradise, with the same view as the nearby Four Seasons for a quarter of the price. The restaurant food and service were great, and the rooms were clean and private. It's a solid four stars, and I'd definitely recommend it. Downtown Ubud is 8 m away, so make sure you're comfortable riding a scooter.

The cafe was lovely, with something for everyone, including vegan choices, and the staff were fantastic, friendly, and attentive. The hotel itself has a peaceful atmosphere and a character that many hotels lack. The view is absolutely stunning.

There are lots of steps, so watch out. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are nice, and the pool is pleasant. The restaurant is great and the view is amazing. Just be ready to live alongside Bali's many bugs and geckos.

The complex is beautiful, and the view is stellar. Getting to town is convenient if you have your own transport, but the property has some privacy and practical issues. Room quality seems hit or miss. My AC had a problem, and I needed my phone flashlight to manage the steps down to my room. I'd recommend the resort to adventurous couples or groups who want to enjoy Ubud's beauty along with some of its practical challenges.
