Bali Paragon Resort Hotel

The staff were friendly, but that doesn’t make up for the broken facilities, poor upkeep, and wrong information. Calling this a 4-star hotel feels misleading. In its current state and with this service, it feels more like 2 stars. I’d tell future guests to think twice. I came for New Year’s Eve at GWK Bali and chose this hotel only for its location. The stay was extremely disappointing and nowhere near what I expect from a 4-star place. We booked two rooms with different check-in times. At about 4 p.m., the front office staff clearly told me my room included breakfast for two. I checked more than once and got the same assurance. But the next morning I was told breakfast wasn’t included at all. My other roommate hadn’t been told anything about breakfast either. That kind of inconsistent, misleading information was unacceptable and gave me false hope. The room was in poor condition. When we got back around 2 a.m., the overhead shower didn’t work at all. Only the hand shower worked, with very slow pressure, so showering was frustrating and uncomfortable. It was still bad in the morning. The shampoo and shower gel smelled like cheap soap, well below what I’d expect from a Bali hotel claiming 4 stars, when most hotels have pleasant aromatherapy-style toiletries. Maintenance around the property seemed neglected. The balcony was tiny, and its metal railings were visibly rusty, which looked bad and raised concerns about safety and upkeep.
