Bali Sun Tropical Hotel & Spa

I spent nine nights here as a solo traveller, in a Premier room. Around $40 a night was a great price, but this isn’t a luxury resort. There are elevators, so no stair issues. The room was clean, with a really comfy bed, great air conditioning and a warm shower. The water pressure was okay but could be better, and the shower head needed a CLR scrub to get rid of the lime. The location eatfantastic. My biggest grr was that there were no sunbeds around the pool and only one ladder in and out. If I came back, I’d choose a balcony room or one by the pool.

We had a great time here with the family and would stay again. Our room was on the same level as the pool, right beside it, which made swimming easy for the kids. The long pool is shaded from direct sun, so it doesn’t feel too hot. Staff were friendly and helpful, and there are plenty of minimarts nearby. Legian is close, and Kuta Beach is walkable.

The building is a little dated, but a week’s accommodation for under $1000 felt like good value. The pool was well kept, the buffet breaky was nice, and housekeeping were attentive. The location makes it easy to explore Legian-Kuta on foot. Service was super helpful and friendly, especially the security team, who made a genuine effort to connect with our kids.

The rooms were comfortable, clean, and suited our needs, and breakfast was good. It’s a cheap place in a good Legian location. The pool is small and feels like you’re swimming in someone’s backyard. There’s no swim up bar, and not many rooms have balconies.
