Bali Tropic Resort & Spa

Everything was first class, and I can’t wait to come back. We booked a Club Suite for four nights and wished we’d stayed longer. The room was incredible, the grounds were beautiful, and there was a private beach. The rooftop pool was amazing too. The staff were all polite and helpful. Access to the rooftop bar, pool and restaurant requires a Club Suite booking, but I thought the extra cost was well worth it.

From the architecture to the pleasant, friendly staff, this feels like a typical Balinese resort. It’s quite large, with plenty to do, and nicely located near the beach. I also liked the massage spot on the water. We booked two rooms for a family trip. At first there was no water in the bathroom, but the staff quickly moved us to different rooms.

The roof terrace pool was a highlight, especially since the resort beach didn’t look very appealing for swimming. Breakfast and dinner were quite good, though take care ordering anything beyond regular coffee at breakfast. I got charged extra for a cappuccino. It wasn’t expensive, but I’d have liked to know in advance. We stayed in room 3089 in the main building. The grounds are beautiful, but the room felt dark and dated, and the view was just rooftops and the side of another apartment block. There was also a noticeable drain smell in the bathroom, though it wasn’t too strong.

There isn’t much around the resort, but there’s a free shuttle bus to bali collection. The staff are really friendly and helpful. If you’re after a truly Balinese-style place, this could suit you. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are buffet, or you can order à la carte dinner until 6:30 p.m. sharp.
