D'Camel Hotel Lembongan

After nearly a year traveling across Asia, I'd put this among the better guesthouses I've stayed in. The location is convenient, you can reach everything on foot, and check-in and checkout were quick and easy. I slept incredibly well, with a comfortable mattress, a calm atmosphere and the bonus of a private pool. The bathroom had a spacious shower. For the price, the value is outstanding. In many hostels, two dorm beds cost as much as a private room here, and the difference in comfort, privacy and experience is huge. I think the harsh reviews may come from short-term vacationers expecting five-star luxury at a budget price, which feels unfair and misleading to future travelers. This place doesn't deserve those poor ratings. I'd strongly recommend it if you want comfort and good value.

Everything you need is within walking distance, and check-in and checkout were straightforward. The staff were professional and efficient. I wasn't sure what to expect after seeing the mixed reviews, but the guesthouse was peaceful and beautifully maintained, and felt well above its price range. I slept better here than in many higher-rated hotels thanks to the excellent mattress and quiet atmosphere. It frustrates me when people leave poor reviews expecting five-star standards at budget prices. For realistic expectations, this is easily one of the best-value options around.

Good budget hotel. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It feels secure, and breakfast is cheap. There's a good warung next door and it's five minutes to the beach.

The location is great, and it's quiet at night. Staff were helpful, though they barely speak English. We had to move rooms because the mold was unbearable, and the hotel is generally very run down. It's okay if all you need is somewhere to sleep, but I wouldn't choose it for relaxing or hanging out.
