Grand Ixora Kuta Resort

There were lots of shops and attractions close enough to walk to, since the hotel sits right in the market area. Breakfast had plenty of choices, and my room was comfortable and kept in good shape. The staff were courteous and helpful throughout my pleasant stay.

The restaurant was awful. We ordered a basic dish with mashed potatoes and got instant powdered mix instead of actual potato. Completely unacceptable. The rooms all smelled moldy. We asked politely to move, but found they were all the same, so we had to stay put. No one offered to help with our luggage, and the staff seemed unwilling to assist. Calling this a resort makes no sense when it’s just an old hallway lined with doors. There was none of the service you’d expect, though we were charged as if there were. I hope others see this before making the same mistake. It wasn’t even about saving money. I can’t recommend this place at all.

The only real problem was the room lighting. It was dim, with no extra lights, which made getting ready difficult. Aside from that, I had a good stay at Grand Ixora Hotel. The staff were attentive and friendly, the hotel was clean and well cared for, and I appreciated the attention to hygiene. The location was convenient, and the food had a tasty, varied selection. I’d recommend it for the quality and value.

There are two elevators by reception and another at the back near the spa. The hotel wasn’t too busy, and you need to tap your card to reach the upper floors. There’s a pool and plenty of lounge chairs by the entrance if you want to relax. The staff are very polite and friendly, sometimes greeting you as you pass. Power lines cut across the view, though you can still see the busy street below. The airport isn’t far, and there are plenty of good, affordable places to eat just a few minutes away on foot. A convenience store nearby is handy for drinks and snacks. Service and food were excellent.
