Green Field Hotel and Restaurant

Happy hour was a highlight, and the larger pool was just what we wanted after days out exploring Bali. We also liked the generous light lunches and the simple breakfast buffet, which had the basics covered. Though the hotel is only a few meters from a main road into south Ubud, the river paddies and sacred monkey forest made it feel calm and tucked away. The staff were warm and easy to talk to. We had a fantastic stay and hope to come back soon.

We stayed in a Bale Sukat room, an older style room facing the rice paddies. The rice had already been harvested, but it was still a nice view. The room was huge, though the handheld shower had no wall hook, splashed water around the bathroom, and was awkward to climb into because it sat over the bath. There were no power points near the bed. Both pools were lovely, but some tiles were missing. The hotel was peaceful and well located in Ubud. Breakfast was good, although there was no bacon on two of our three mornings. The spa was closed on one day when we wanted to use it, and despite listings on some booking sites, there was no pool bar.

The staff were always smiling, kind, and ready to help with what we needed. Breakfast was thoughtfully prepared, and everything was clean. It feels spacious here, and even though you're in the city, all you really hear are birds and running water. I highly recommend staying here.

The hotel sits among the river and nature, very close to central Ubud. The scenery made me feel as if I were in paradise, and the staff were so lovely and helpful from beginning to end that I wanted to hug them. Breakfast and the shuttle were both really convenient and helped us save money. Nature also means mosquitoes and lizards, perhaps, so if you're coming to Bali, you need to be okay with that.
