Hotel Terrace at Kuta

When my friend had trouble with her ears and needed her ears pierced, one of the service staff came to help her put on earrings. After we had a motorcycle accident in the Ubud area, hotel staff also helped treat our wounds for free. I was deeply touched by their care. From helping us push the motorcycle down to the underground parking to letting us check in early on our first day, the team were kind at every turn. Everyone greeted us with a smile. It’s a really good hotel, and every staff member seems to have a lot of heart.

We’ve stayed here several times when passing through Kuta, and the price for what you get is hard to beat. The location is great, and the fifth-floor rooms get lovely natural light. A very good pick if you’re on a budget.

Edit: After posting this, I found out my bed was absolutely filthy, with marks and everything left by the previous guest. My room hadn’t been cleaned, and they expected me to sleep in dirty bedding. When I asked for the manager to be called, the staff member seemed not to care at all. I insisted on a new room or freshly made bed, and they were going to move me to a single room without offering any compensation, even though the situation wasn’t my fault. On my first night there were easily 30 or more mosquitoes in the room. I told the lobby and asked them to spray while I was out, but came back to find the room still full of them. I switched rooms the next day and paid to upgrade, only to find the toilet seat dirty when I arrived. The staff seemed a bit dodgy too. I’d ask a question and get five different answers, which made it hard to trust them. When I asked about a refund because I was clearly unhappy, they showed no care or made any effort. A very poor stay, and I can’t recommend this hotel.

The bathroom door didn’t work properly, and the room felt too small and uncomfortable. The front desk staff were unhelpful and unprofessional during our stay, which made the whole experience worse. Not worth the price or hassle, and I wouldn’t recommend it.
