Kutabex Beach Front Hotel

The lobby and restaurant don't have air conditioning, and even basic things like body lotion aren't provided. Breakfast is served for just three hours, a shorter window than the usual four hours at most hotels. The rooms are small and feel claustrophobic, with no balcony or view. The bathroom looked neglected too. For room size and quality, this felt more like a two-star property.

The place is old, worn out, and badly maintained. There are barely any amenities, no face towels, and you have to hand in your wet towels to get fresh ones. Most of the staff seemed unfriendly and checked out, which gave me the impression of poor management and low morale. Apart from a building, a room, and a bed, there's not much here. It was one of the worst hotel stays I've had lately. The service, comfort, and value all fell short. Wouldn't recommend it.

For cocktails with a view and some entertainment, head to the rooftop bar at Kutabex Beach Front, directly across from Kuta Beach. It has a pool and a fantastic view over the beach. Try a flamed cocktail if you like fancy drinks. The bartender is fun and very talented, and there's a little show as you get to drink it while it's still on fire.

The room was okay for the price of a beachside hotel, and reception were helpful enough to bring me the travel adapter I'd asked for. The beach is just across the road, with lots of surfing services. I chose the hotel for its location.
