Legong Keraton Beach Hotel

The staff were super friendly, and with security at the gate plus people keeping an eye on the grounds, I felt safe. The beach club noise can get annoying, but it stops at midnight. A good choice if you’re here to party. I had a good stay.

Breakfast was nice, with one item to choose from the menu. My room was missed during the second day’s cleaning, which was fine since it didn’t need it. I could’ve gone to reception for my two bottles of water, but didn’t bother. Circle K stores nearby are cheaper enough. I knew the hotel was beside nightclubs, but didn’t expect even the priciest rooms to pick up every sound from the beach. I figured I could sleep during the day after a night out, but no. There’s daily construction too, with hammering at the back of the cottage and other building noise. I was there three nights and got maybe 12 hours of sleep. The beach is behind a locked gate, with faded umbrellas in view, and tree debris can fall on you while people ask whether you want to buy jewelry. The website showed a beach view from the veranda, but in real life I saw concrete, a pool, and trees. The beach is somewhere out back. For the price, I’m not sure it’s worth it. I’d book a really cheap room at the back for a few dollars less and drink until I pass out.

I had to cancel my Bali trip because I became seriously ill on January 5, two weeks before check-in. January 4 was the last day I could cancel without a charge. I used Agoda’s option to ask the hotel to waive the cancellation fee and explained my medical situation, asking for a refund. The hotel emailed to say they wouldn’t return even a single rupee. I’d already paid, and the full charge for all nights was taken from my card. I wasn’t expecting necessarily to get 100% back, but hoped they might refund at least half. Being refused any refund at all was a very bad and unexpected experience, which is why I’m writing this.

Being right by the beach meant lovely views when we woke up, and the breakfast was delicious. The staff were kind, attentive, and happy to help. A massage therapist gave both my partner and me what we agreed was the best massage we’d ever had, very professional and relaxing. We chose the hotel to enjoy Bali nightlife, and the location worked perfectly. After dinner nearby, we went to Finn’s Beach Club and could walk straight back to our room. When it was time to sleep, we could still hear music from a nearby bar, though it wasn’t Finn’s. Given the location, that made sense. We had a great time and would recommend it to anyone wanting comfort alongside Bali’s lively energy. 🌴🍹
