Rumah Tyang Villa

The location gave us a nice mix of quiet and convenience. The property is about a five-minute walk from the palace, with central Ubud’s restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops nearby. Kajeng Rice Field walk is close, and the street itself has several excellent places to eat: Warung Tiyang, Barraca, Warung Makan Bu Rus, and Babi Guling Gung Cung were all superb. There’s an Indomart and Circle K mart just down the street for snacks, drinks, toiletries, and other supplies. We spent 10 days in the 2 bedroom property, one couple and one single guest. Sharing the place worked perfectly, since we had common space as well as our own bungalows for privacy. It felt like our own garden oasis. The bungalows are rustic, but very clean and comfortable, with everything we needed and exquisite traditional design. The well-kept pool was a welcome way to cool down after sightseeing or walking, and the bathrooms had great water pressure. The people who look after the property were the real highlight. Nyoman, the driver, helped arrange a couple of activities and airport transfers for multiple flights. He’s such a kind, lovely man, and a careful, safe driver. He and his wife Ketut own the Warung at the street front, where they make some of the best Nasi Campur we tried. Kadek and the young guys who look after the villas and cook breakfast every day were friendly and obliging, and made us feel welcome. I’d happily recommend this place to friends and would definitely stay again if I return to Ubud.
