Plagoo Holiday Hotel

The room was quite nice, but the service left a lot to be desired. At breakfast, after I picked up my omelet, the waitress asked me to deliver someone else’s omelets. Laundry was another problem. The pricing was insane, the same amount as our stay, and there was no transparency about it up front. I’ve stayed at more luxurious resorts with much better service, and they would never charge such an outrageous price for laundry.

The beautiful, clean pool was a plus, though it’s shallow, maybe just over 4ft, and children who live there have swimming lessons in it. The friendly staff seemed to be doing their best, but the place itself is very tired and seems to cater to large buses of Chinese and Korean tourists. The best thing was the lovely restaurant across the road, where we had one dinner and breakfast. We paid for five nights and extra for a late checkout, but left after two long, sleepless nights. The air-conditioning had only two settings, off or really loud, and there was no hot water, even after we ran the taps for a good 15 minutes. Breakfast was disappointing: I ate a handful of cereal, though my husband said the omelet was very good and thought the rest of the food was horrible. Dinner was a non-event with little choice. At the second place to eat, my husband vomited within minutes after having boiled, pre-frozen dumplings with nothing else. There’s a reasonably sized shop, but the man working there gave a little boy a toy and asked him to get us to pay for it. We didn’t, because of the man’s pushiness. This is the first bad review I’ve ever posted.

We came to rest, but construction nearby was really loud and uncomfortable. The pool seemed dirty and not cleaned at all, and the area didn’t look clean either. The attitude toward clients was the worst.

We booked this during our emergency #baliblackout since it’s in our neighborhood, so the location was convenient. We were surprised, though, that it felt like a completely different little village 😬😆 The building is old and has a strong aged-wood smell, and the doors squeak loudly. There’s a kitchen, but gas costs an extra 100k per night, which felt unreasonable. Wi-Fi was decent and the AC worked, though it wasn’t very strong. Fine for a short emergency stay, but not very comfortable.
