The Peacock Inn

Very stylish, clean, and new, with great service. Cars and mopeds can’t get to the hotel, so you have to walk there.

We booked one night and wound up staying a whole week. The rooms are beautiful and clean, with AC, good WiFi, and a pool. The staff are incredibly kind, attentive, and always available, with a 24/7 reception. Good value for the service. They kept suggesting activities for us, and gave us their WhatsApp number so we could contact them anytime to arrange taxis or book tours.

The location is good, right in the middle of Ubud centre, and the room was clean. The staff were very friendly, so those two stars are for them. But please think twice before booking, or at least be prepared for the shower water to suddenly stop while you’re washing. It happened every day in the middle of my shower, after I’d put on shampoo and body wash. Water came out when I first opened the tap, then stopped, no matter if it was morning, afternoon, evening, or late at night. Staff were eager to fix it, but I saw no progress. The facilities are very old, and the door blind doesn’t really block the view. People in the corridor can see into the room even when it’s closed.

The staff were a delight and looked after us in a subtle, thoughtful way. Thanks for taking such good care of us. The place is a lovely quiet sanctuary in a handy location, with simple elegance throughout. Everything was very neat and clean, and the rooms had a TV, fridge, AC, and a big bathroom with a great shower. The well-built pool is a good size and a pleasure to look at and use.
