I had a great time here. The owner was so welcoming and nice, gave me free tee, and upgraded me to a bigger room than I booked. The hotel was great and affordable, with very clean rooms, a gym and restaurant/bar downstairs, and really friendly staff.

The little things here really stood out. I mentioned casually that I liked pineapple, and the manager made sure some was brought with the ice for my drinks the next day. Room service was quick, good value, and had a nice choice of dishes, and housekeeping kept the room to the same high standard throughout my stay. The room was spacious, very clean, and had working air conditioning and Wi-Fi. The hotel is handy for the railway station, with a supermarket right next door and a street market outside selling very fresh fruit. The welcome and hospitality were among the best I've had in my travels across 46 countries, easily in my top ten. If you're stopping overnight in Bandar Lampung, I'd happily recommend Hotel Bambu Kuning and would book it again when I'm back in this part of Indonesia.

The room was clean, though the place itself is old.
