Cihampelas Hotel 2

I’d book this place again if I’m back in central Bandung. It’s right on Cihampelas street, and the buffet was tasty with a nice range of choices. The room had good, complete facilities, including very cold AC and a hot water heater. Toiletries like a toothbrush, hand wash, soap, and shampoo were provided.

The room was tiny, with an old, springy bed, and the shower didn’t work right. The hotel also seemed poorly maintained, and the hallways were dark. Breakfast was all right, mostly Indonesian food, with little for a Westerner beyond fruit, toast, and eggs. The juice was good, but the coffee tasted awful.

Worst hotel stay I’ve had. I paid 600.000rupiah for a room that didn’t even feel like two stars. It was filthy and poorly kept, with a dirty bed and toilet, and the phone didn’t work.

The staff at Amaris Cihampelas were lovely, polite, helpful, and quick to respond. Even the security staff were great. I’d happily come back and recommend it to others. It’s in the middle of Cihampelas, less than five minutes from Ciwalk, with a minimarket across the street and a roomy parking lot. The price is very affordable. My room wasn’t big, but it was clean and neat, and surprisingly had a fairly large smart TV. The aircon worked well. Breakfast tasted good, though there weren’t many options and no egg station. You can ask the kitchen staff directly for an omelette or scrambled eggs.
