Marciella Hotel

The three AC units in the family room were very dirty and needed cleaning by their AC service vendor. The restroom door wouldn’t close and needs fixing. There were two very small bathrooms with nowhere to put anything except on the towel rack. The showers were basic, and one was missing a shower head hanger. I asked them to install one, but the water pressure was so weak that showering took a long time. The hot water was weak too, so it was only slightly warm. A lot of hanger wire was missing from the vitrage curtains, which made it clear they hadn’t been installed properly.

The family suite was roomy, with air conditioning and two bathrooms that had hot-water showers. Wi-Fi was advertised as free, but I couldn't get a connection from the suite. For the friendly price, the cleanliness and upkeep could be better, though they weren't unacceptable.

The breakfast was limited, with local Indonesian food only and no buffet, and even getting a decent tea was difficult. In our room, the advertised Wi-Fi didn't work; they said capacity was limited because of the number of guests. The room itself was old, dirty, and smelly, with peeling wood veneer on the furniture. The small, dingy bathroom had a wobbly toilet seat. This is a very old property and nothing like the photos posted. I stayed last week, and as a foreigner I wouldn't choose it again. If zero were an option, that's what I'd give it.

The hotel itself could be lovely, but the problem is how staff handle disruptive guests. People ran up and down the halls yelling and playing loud music, and there didn't seem to be security or anyone monitoring them. Calls to the front desk went unanswered for a while, and even when staff picked up, they didn't get the guests to quiet down or remove them. It was so bad that sleeping here felt worse than in a tent on the Las Vegas Strip. Find somewhere else unless they start dealing with the noise.
