The Batik Bed and Coffee

I was disappointed with the service. My booking through the app was cancelled by the system, then just a few minutes later the hotel cancelled my booking directly because another guest had booked faster. If other customers were competing for the room, why offer it to me in the first place? That didn’t feel ethical, and they should have managed the bookings better.

The room itself had a decent amount of space and a queen bed, but there was only one table and one chair. We were given the farthest room on the third floor, and there’s no elevator, which is a pain with suitcases. A bellboy did help carry ours when we arrived. We chose the place for a business trip because it was fairly close to where we needed to be and about 6 km from central Bandung. The linens complaint is true. Ours weren’t changed even by the second day, and it seemed like they didn’t know proper hotel laundry practices. On the plus side, there were snacks for sale at the reception and water dispensers for refilling tumblers. The more upsetting parts were the ants swarming around my food and the roof leaking badly when it rained. Water came through by the shower where we bathed and underneath the window. On the second day a repairman came to deal with the air conditioning, but they had no manners, coming and going as they pleased with their shoes on. It might look good in photos, but I wouldn’t choose it for comfort or a place to rest.

The building is three stories, with a rooftop where you can have morning coffee. The cafe was still being developed when I visited, though, since the hotel had only been operating for four months. A little odd for a place called bed and coffee. The parking lot is small, maybe space for a couple of cars, so on busy days ask the security staff to help find a spot. It’s a good-looking hotel in Bandung and surprisingly cheap. Nearly every corner is photo-worthy. The bed sits right next to a wall, which feels a bit strange, but it was still comfortable enough.

The room had a great bed, and the bathroom was simple and unusual in a nice way. I liked the soft colors, the American-style corner sofa, and the batik floor pattern. From outside it looks fairly clean, but once inside there are even cuter themed spaces. Cool place! Keep improving. My suggestion is to put sanitizer in each room or around the property. Thanks.
