Breakfast in the cafe was a highlight for me. The food was nicely prepared, and the seating area gets lovely natural light. Around the hotel, warm wood and a central skylight give the place a calm, distinctive feel. It comes across more like a design focused boutique stay than a standard hotel. My room was spacious, bright, and clean, with a comfortable bed. I liked the window seat for reading or getting work done, along with the drink tray and lighting choices. The whole place has a cozy mid century feel mixed with modern minimalism. I had a really pleasant stay, though the soundproofing in the rooms could be better. There are thoughtful details throughout, and it’s a comfortable, peaceful place for anyone who cares about design.

The hotel looks promising, and it could work if all you want is an attractive place to hang out in the cafe. Staying there was a very unpleasant experience for me. For this price, I could get the kind of service offered by a large franchise hotel group. In room 202, the room itself felt moldy, and the towels barely absorbed water. The Wi Fi kept cutting out. Other guests apparently had a bad experience in this same room, too. Late at night it was very noisy, even though the room wasn’t close to the cafe. I can only guess the noise came from staff in the back. It made it hard to rest after a long day. Breakfast had few choices, and the food ran out quickly. It didn’t seem like many portions had been prepared. The reception staff weren’t very friendly. They rarely smiled or greeted us unless we greeted them first. When we tried to call the front office to order room service, nobody picked up, so we had to go downstairs and order in person. The part that really upset me was what happened with some belongings I accidentally left behind. The hotel had my phone number from check in, but didn’t contact me. I only realized a week later that my things were missing. When I asked customer service about it, the response was cold, and they didn’t answer why it had taken so long to tell me that housekeeping had found the items while preparing the room for the next guests. I’m glad I got some of my things back, but one item was still missing. They said they would send the rest back to Jakarta. I’d read complaints from last year, and then had many of the same problems myself last week. It doesn’t seem like the service has improved, since guests keep reporting the same issues. The other problems alone wouldn’t have been a big deal to me, and I wouldn’t have come back anyway. But what happened with my belongings was especially disappointing. It’s a shame, because the hotel looks so promising. This was my one time trying a hotel that went viral on TikTok, and I’d rather stay somewhere else that can make guests comfortable for this kind of price.

The room felt peaceful, with big windows looking out at trees, a roomy layout, and a bathtub beside the window. I also liked the interior design. There’s a large car park, a pleasant cafe on site, and the location is convenient for Ciumbeuleuit. I’d recommend it.

The restaurant food and drinks were tasty and affordable. I only stayed one night and skipped breakfast, so I can’t comment on it. I liked the room design, though I preferred the earlier Oliver design. The toilet door was broken and difficult to open. The toilet area wasn’t clean, and the towels and doormat looked old. There was no minibar either, so for me the place wasn’t worth the price.

The location is about 25 minutes from town, with lots of coffee places nearby and plenty of local food spots to try. Breakfast was fine, the food was okay, and the coffee was exceptionally good. Service was good too, with complimentary drinks and dessert. The TV worked well, the Wi Fi was strong, and there were online streaming services. You can also order alcoholic drinks from the cafe. I stayed in the studio, which was very spacious, but I woke up with bites on my legs both nights. They still hadn’t healed when I got home. The bathtub was large, but it wasn’t clean, and there was mold on the wall. After I used it, the water didn’t drain. I had to press and fiddle with the stopper myself. A frustrating start to the stay. As a non smoker, I was told I could only sit in the cafe’s air conditioned area if each of us spent IDR100,000. There were two of us. As a hotel guest and fellow hotelier, I found that very distasteful. Our only option was a tiny corridor seat where people kept walking past. It gets dark around 6.30pm, so as female travelers we spent most evenings in the room. We expected a quiet night, but heard loud laughter and music echoing through the walls. Our room was right by reception, and there was no peephole or extra latch, so we didn’t open the door. We assumed it was another room making noise, but after reading reviews, we found out it might have been DJs. We couldn’t open the curtains either, because people could easily look into the room.
