Green Rose Hotel

The only good thing was how friendly the hotel staff were. The hotel has potential, but it needs serious attention to cleanliness, housekeeping, and room maintenance. I stayed with my family and a large group from Malaysia at Greenrose Hotel Batam from 18/10/25 to 21/10/25. We booked around 8 or 9 rooms. Room 321 was very disappointing. It smelled strongly of cigarettes as soon as I entered. The odor had soaked into the carpet, sofa, walls, and shower curtain. On the first night, I asked housekeeping to spray air freshener. It helped for a while, but they used so much that the toilet floor became slippery and sticky. I also saw hair on the bed and stains on the bedsheet, but I was too tired from traveling to make an issue of it. The next morning I requested room service. When I returned that night, they had only pulled up the blanket and taken out the trash. The cups were still dirty, mineral water and towels hadn’t been replaced, coffee and tea weren’t refilled, and soap was still missing. The comforter wasn’t arranged properly, and the room hadn’t been vacuumed. Even after I complained, nothing improved, and I felt completely let down by the housekeeping and cleanliness.

The breakfast was just one dish that changed each day, so after everything else we decided not to eat there. The lounge and breakfast area advertised on the booking portals for floors 4 and 5 were closed and blocked off. The price and rating should be lowered, and the photos need to show what the hotel is actually like. Not recommended at all. It looked impressive on the website and from outside, but the rooms were disappointing. The room I booked was pictured with a bathtub, but there wasn’t one. There were rust stains on the carpet, the spare pillows in plastic bags smelled awful, the bedsheets were stained, and water splashed everywhere from the shower and toilet hose. My parents’ room had a clogged toilet, and it took hours for a mechanic to come. They moved them to another room, saying one was available, but that room still had splashing hoses and smelly pillows.

The KTV and pub upstairs kept singing loudly until 2 a.m. The room’s soundproofing was ridiculously bad, I could hear every word. After I complained, staff quickly came to help and were very helpful and apologetic. They offered to move me to level 1, but I could still hear the music, and it went on until TWO AM. They said they couldn’t do anything to stop it. I’ve never left a bad hotel review before, but this place really isn’t worth your money. If you don’t plan to get a good night’s sleep, this is the place for you. The breakfast selection was very poor, and the person cooking eggs couldn’t even flip one over in the pan.

Staff were generally polite and friendly. Breakfast was passable, though it could be better. The rooms have poor soundproofing, and the KTV noise at night carried in very clearly until past 11 p.m.
