When I arrived after booking online from Malaysia for 27 February to 28 February, the receptionist told me all the rooms were full. I showed him my booking, but he said they didn’t care whether I had one or not. I was stressed and had to go look for another hotel. They don’t accept online bookings.

The walls don’t block sound well. The room was under the stairs on the first floor, and the staff, owner, and visitors could be heard talking loudly and stomping around. It was really annoying. A lot of the appliances were broken, especially in the bathroom. They say the first-floor bathroom is only for customers, though it’s for public use. For this price, it feels expensive when there are many better options.

Sungai Panas has friendly locals and affordable food stalls that stay open past 10pm. There’s a restaurant and supermarket opposite the hotel. My VVIP room was clean and affordable for a budget traveller, with an ensuite bathroom, working aircon, a bar fridge and enough storage for a short stay. There’s also a kitchen and a smoking section on level 2. The hostess and staff were polite.

The owner welcomed me warmly. For a budget traveller like me, I’d highly recommend this place. You get what you pay for.
