Alam Batu Village

The rooms match the listing. I'd avoid the family room because of the lack of privacy and the unsafe bathroom stairs. Be ready for ants and mosquitoes.

We were really grateful when a senior staff member quickly sorted out an error with our room booking through ticket.com. The staff were all friendly and attentive. We loved the helpful service and the cute setting, with little wooden joglo-style buildings among a green garden. Our bed was very comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. It was also great to get water in glass bottles instead of the usual plastic ones. There's a cute restaurant on site for lunch, though we don't think it serves dinner. The accommodation is right by a busy intersection, so traffic noise carries on day and night. Museum Angkut is just across the road, and cafes, massage places, convenience stores, and restaurants are an easy walk away. At night, the lights across the valley near Alam Batu Village make a pretty view. Thanks for having us!

The main drawback is the traffic noise, since the place sits right at a road junction. Still, it's centrally located near most public spots in Batu. The open-air bathroom was a comfortable touch, and the setting gave me the feeling of having a villa somewhere remote. Food and service were fine, and they clean your room if you stay more than a day.

The Javanese vintage style brought back childhood memories. Breakfast was tasty too, served in traditional bamboo packaging that felt environmentally friendly.
